Evelyn Ainsa was born in Valpariso, Chile in 1916. She has been living in El Paso for most of her life. After raising a large family, Evelyn began painting seriously. She then went to college where she attained her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Fine Arts. Painting daily for over 30 years, Evelyn has developed her own language and philosophy using the image of the cat as a metaphorical figure and symbol with which to translate contemporary human issues. She begins with a conceptual title and then creates her works using vivid colors. Each painting teaches a special lesson about the human experience.
